The ‘Roar’ singer was named UNICEF’s Goodwill Ambassador in New York on Tuesday. The star was obviously very proud to be joining the ranks of other ambassadors that have come before her including David Beckham, Orlando Bloom, Jackie Chan, Danny Glover, Sir Roger Moore and Susan Sarandon.
Katy Perry has some quite inspiring songs and i think she is the best celeb candidate right now for this job. See more photo’s and video after the cut…
Clearly excited about her new role,She said: ‘I believe young people have the power to change their own lives, with our help.
‘I am honored to join UNICEF as a Goodwill Ambassador, and committed to doing everything I can to help children and adolescents who come from such different backgrounds but want the same thing: a brighter future.’
Katy has already been working with UNICEF having traveled with the organisation to Madagascar earlier this year.
