Jennifer Love Hewitt and Freddie Prinze Jr. set to return for New ‘I Know What You Did Last Summer’ Sequel

It is finally happening, guys! With the success of ‘Scream’ last year,‘I Know What You Did Last Summer’ is set to make a Sequel and that’s not just the exciting news – Jennifer Love Hewitt and Freddie Prinze Jr will return.

According to Deadline;“Insiders say the project is still early development and that Neal H. Moritz is in talks to return as a producer with Leah McKendrick on board to write the script.”
“While McKendrick is penning the pic, the idea for the new film came from Robinson and McKendrick, who blew studio execs away when they pitched this idea for a sequel last fall especially given the recent success of the Scream franchise.”

The original I Know What You Did Last Summer, which was produced in 1997 and was written by Kevin Williamson (Scream) based on the Lois Duncan novel, was directed by Jim Gillespie. The movie inspired follow-ups in 1998 and 2006. Only that first sequel saw Jennifer Love Hewitt and Freddie Prinze Jr. return.

Four young friends who were connected by a horrible catastrophe are reunited in the 1997 slasher film when they discover that a manic with a hook is stalking them in their quiet beach town.
