Dolly says of the album: “I’m so excited to finally present my first Rock and Roll album Rockstar! I am very honoured and privileged to have worked with some of the greatest iconic singers and musicians of all time and to be able to sing all the iconic songs throughout the album was a joy beyond measure. I hope everybody enjoys the album as much as I’ve enjoyed putting it together!”
Parton is also set to premiere ‘World on Fire’, at the ACM Awards on Thursday night (11th May). Ps: I love the ‘World on Fire’ single cover!
Commenting on ‘World on Fire’, Dolly Parton says: “This is a song I felt very inspired to write. I think it speaks about everything and to everyone this day and time. I hope it is something that will touch you and maybe touch enough people to want to make a change for the better.”
The iconic singer-songwriter told Billboard after she was nominated for the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame last February that she would make a rock album if she gets in,she said: “I’m not expecting that I’ll get in. But if I do, I’ll immediately, next year, have to put out a great rock and roll album — which I’ve wanted to do for years.”
A woman of her word -one of the reasons we love Dolly.
I am so excited for this album and the collaboration; P!nk, Miley Cyrus, Bon Jovi, Steve Tyler, Stevie Nicks, Elton John, Sheryl Crow, Blondie’s Debbie Harry, Paul McCartney, Peter Frampton & Mick Fleetwood… are you kidding me? Mind blown! This is how you do a rock album.
