Empire’s Creater and Director,Lee Daniels revealed his inspiration behind the TV show favorite,Cookie Lyon played by Taraji P. Henson. He said;
“Everyone says they created Cookie. No, seriously, I’m being sued by everyone. But she was modeled after my grandmother Grace H. Daniels. At age 4 or 5, she told me, ‘You’re a f—–, but it’s okay. Always live your truth.’ She taught me to tell the truth.”
