2023 Grammy Awards Winners’ List

The 2023 Grammy Awards ceremony which took place at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles on February 5, 2023, came with a lot of surprises. The 65th annual show was hosted by comedian,Trevor Noah for the third time.

Though I did a few predictions and we all know some things never change at this ceremony; some took me by surprise e.g Harry Styles.

To be honest, I never saw Harry Styles winning best album but i was rooting for him for song of the year (“As it was” is a great song) , best solo pop solo performance and best music video (who am i kidding,i knew Taylor Swift will eat that). He also won the Pop Vocal album.

But Best Album? Nah especially with heavyweights like Beyonce, Adele,ABBA, Coldplay.
Another surprise was Kendrick Lamar for Rap album and Rap song; don’t get me wrong, Kendrick is a phenomenal rapper but he also had some heavyweights in that category as well. So it was really tough but I am also happy he won.

Another surprise was Lizzo with Record of the year! Again like Harry and Kendrick, there were really great songs in that category that I didn’t even imagine Lizzo winning.

I wasn’t happy that Burna o didn’t take any home but it’s alright, at least he was nominated for his own song and has won a grammy before so it’s fine. Just happy Tems represented us.

Another person i was really happy for is Viola Davis. PS: she is an EGOT now, finally!
