Duh! Who else deserves it?
The 15th Annual GQ Men Of The Year Awards took place in Berlin on Thursday evening, Beckham was on hand to personally accept his award in the ceremony’s style category.
GQ Editor-in-Chief José Redondo Vega says no-one else had managed to bridge the gap between style and sport like the former Manchester United star.
‘Like no other athlete, David Beckham represents style and fashion influence,’ said GQ Editor-in-Chief.
‘With his trendsetting and sometimes daring appearances he has created a bridge between the world of design, models, and photographers, and the world of world-class sports, and brought glamour back to a male sport.’
Also in attendance was outlandish fashion designer Jean-Paul Gaultier, Robin Thicke ,Kylie Minogue and Anastacia.
Anastacia was making her first public appearance since undergoing a double mastectomy after being diagnosed with breast cancer for a second time. She scooped the Humanitarian award for her Anastacia Fund charity,which has been established with the Breast Cancer Research Foundation.
More than 900 guests attended the annual show, with German TV personality Joko Winterscheidt making his debut as host.
