Genevieve Nnaji

Nollywood actress and director,Genevieve Nnaji shared her excitement as her movie ‘Lionheart’ was submitted for 2020 Academy Award for Best International Film. She wrote;“The Nigerian Oscar Selection Committee has chosen @lionheartthemovie to represent Nigeria for the 2020 Academy Award for Best International Film! This is the first entry ever for Nigeria. It’s an honor to be a part of such a pivotal moment in the history of Nigerian cinema. A moment we know will be replicated as our stories continue to resonate with audiences around the world. On behalf of the entire LIONHEART team and TEN Productions, we are grateful for this recognition and proud to carry the torch. Thank you all for the love and support thus far. ”

You know why i’m so excited for Gene?Even though she has been in hundreds of Nollywood films and played so many different roles exceptionally ,she was criticised for being a plain and stiff actress. But i have always admired her from day one and knew she would be Africa’s gold mine (she is just getting started). Congratulations Genevieve ,thank you for putting Nigeria on the map (and Lionheart was just her second movie). She is really an example of “shutting the noise and keep hustling”.

Love to hear from you
