Cardi B promises a new album next year

For Angela Yee’s final day as co-host of “The Breakfast Club,” the Grammy-winning rapper,Cardi B called in and talked about her new album.

On December 1st, Cardi B visited The Breakfast Club and provided some hints about the release date of her upcoming studio album.

The host of The Breakfast Club, Charlamagne Tha God, questioned Cardi when she called in on Angela Yee’s final day to find out when the follow-up to her Grammy-winning first album Invasion of Privacy, which she released in April 2018 via Atlantic Records, would be available.

“I have no choice, I have to put it out,” she replied. “I have like a couple of songs that are like definite, I don’t know. I don’t know what’s going on with me. I need to just make up my mind and put it out.”

Since “every record you put out went No. 1,” according to DJ Envy (for the record, Cardi has five No. 1 singles on the Billboard Hot 100 so far), it’s time for her to release more music. The “Up” rapper believes that the new album is still “missing something.” I gotta put it out, I gotta put it out next year,” she said,

It sounded like Cardi could be game when Charlamagne floated the idea of releasing it on April 6, 2023, to coincide with Invasion of Privacy’s fifth anniversary. But only time will be able to pinpoint exactly when to anticipate her second studio album.

Cardi replied Charlamagne after he asked earlier in the conversation why she was calling in today.

“Because Angela Yee is leaving,” Back in August, Yee first made her plans to host her own daily nationally syndicated program, Way Up With Angela Yee, which will debut on iHeartRadio. Cardi concluded her departure speech by singing an acapella of “Until We Meet Again,” the last theme from the Playhouse Disney series Out of the Box.

Yee informed the frequently-invited chart-topping MC, “You’re such a huge part of the show too,”. But as early as the following year, Cardi might be expanding her involvement on The Breakfast Club: She was suggested by Charlamagne to step in as a guest-host during the week leading up to her album release date. “Ooh that would be fun,” she replied.

I’m sure the new album will be fire.
