Angelina Jolie revealed she didn’t want to play Tomb Raider,Lara Croft at first 

Actress and Humanitarian, Angelina Jolie revealed in an interview with Collider that she didn’t want to play Lara Croft in Tomb Raider in the beginning. 

Jolie said she “didn’t feel like that character suited” her.

“I said, ‘I really didn’t feel like that character suited me.’ I actually didn’t at first want to do it; I said no,”

Prior to Tomb Raider casting,Jolie was already a household name in Hollywood with her Oscar winning role for Girl,Interrupted. Even some people in her inner circle advised her against the role but she took it up as a challenge. 

The job required her to do stunts and after some months of intense physical training, Jolie began to doubt her capabilities to play the role. She said;

“One night, I was sitting in my bathtub with all my bruises and cuts. I was crying and thinking, ‘What am I doing? I can’t pull this off? I can’t even keep the guns straight. I keep hitting myself with her stupid braid. But after a few months of pushing yourself, you’re suddenly swinging on a bunji rope and realizing, ‘Wow, I’m not hitting the wall.’”

Well,sometimes in life you need to challenge yourself to be able to know what you are capable of and Angelina did that; she ended up loving to do her own stunts in movies.

And I must say ,I couldn’t have imagined someone else playing Lara Croft. She owned the part.
