Rihanna receives National Hero award as Barbados becomes a Republic
Rihanna stunned in this orange halter gown by Bottega Veneta as she receives Barbados National Hero award following the swearing in of their First president,Dame Sandra Mason.
The ceremony was led by Prince Charles in Bridgetown, the island’s capital.
The Prince of Wales landed last night in Barbados ahead of the historic ceremony to remove his mother,The Queen, as Head of State and swear-in current Governor-General Dame Sandra Mason as President.
Prime minister Mia Mottley, who gave Rihanna the accolade, said: “May you continue to shine like a diamond and bring honour to your nation by your works, by your actions,” in reference to the singer’s chart-topping single from 2012, “Diamonds”.
