Taylor Swift will be releasing her version of “Red”

Taylor Swift

Okay so Taylor Swift has been releasing albums like she is going for a walk since lockdown and it has made me really happy. Now the Folklore singer-songwriter revealed on twitter that she will be re-recording “Red”. She wrote

“I’ve always said that the world is a different place for the heartbroken,” Taylor wrote alongside a photo of herself wearing a red cap. “It moves on a different axis, at a different speed. Time skips backwards and forwards fleetingly. The heartbroken might go through thousands of micro-emotions a day trying to figure out how to get through it without picking up the phone to hear that old familiar voice. In the land of heartbreak, moments of strength, independence, and devil-may-care rebellion are intricately woven together with grief, paralyzing vulnerability and hopelessness. Imagining your future might always take you on a detour back to the past. And this is all to say, that the next album I’ll be releasing is my version of Red.”

“It was all over the place, a fractured mosaic of feelings that somehow all fit together in the end,” she added. “Happy, free, confused, lonely, devastated, euphoric, wild, and tortured by memories past.”

“I’m not sure if it was pouring my thoughts into this album, hearing thousands of your voices sing the lyrics back to me in passionate solidarity, or if it was simply time, but something was healed along the way.”

“Like your friend who calls you in the middle of the night going on and on about their ex, I just couldn’t stop writing.” She finished her announcement with the ultimate teaser: “This will be the first time you hear all 30 songs that were meant to go on Red. And hey, one of them is even ten minutes long.”

To be honest “Red” is not my favourite album -this was when Taylor was going “Pop” and I never really thought it was a good fit for her (loved the track “22” though) and then “1989” -also a pop album, came out and i loved some of the songs there.

Then “Lover” and I was like, I need a break from Taylor; I felt like she lost her way… Then 2020 with Folklore and Evermore and I was glad she found her way back.

I wish it’s a re-recording of “Speak Now” or since she wants to record albums from her Pop phase then let it be “1989”.

Anyways it comes out in November and will have 30 songs, including a 10-minute version of “All Too Well.” which is my favourite track on the album so I’m not that sad.

What do you Swifties think? Are you excited?

Love to hear from you
