Johnny Depp quits Fantastic Beast Franchise

Days after,Johnny Depp lost a libel case in the U.K. against the tabloid publication The Sun, which had published an article in 2018 following his relationship with ex,Amber Heard – calling Depp a ‘wife beater’.

Now the actor have reportedly resigned from his role as the dark wizard Gellert Grindelwald.
He wrote : “I have been asked to resign by Warner Bros. from my role as Grindelwald in Fantastic Beasts and I have respected and agreed to that request.”

“The surreal judgement of the court in the U.K. will not change my fight to tell the truth and I confirm that I plan to appeal. My resolve remains strong and I intend to prove that the allegations against me are false. My life and career will not be defined by this moment in time.”

The third installment of Fantastic Beasts franchise was originally scheduled for release next November. However, the spokesperson for Warner Bros. told NPR that the studio has now pushed back the film’s opening to the summer of 2022
