First Nigerian To Receive The Mary McCarthy Award - Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie

Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie was invited to Bard College, an impressive liberal arts institution, where she was presented with the 2017 Mary McCarthy Award for her evoking novels and public persona.
Last month,she was conferred with an honorary degree from Haverford College, an institution in Pennsylvania, United States.

The McCarthy award which is named after famous novelist Mary McCarthy who taught at Bard for a year, is given in acknowledgement of engagement in the public sphere by an intellectual, artist, or writer.The prize includes a $2,000 cash award, publication of a collection of short stories, novellas, or a short novel, and a standard royalty contract. Congrats to her!
