Actor Shia LaBeouf Was Asked To Send Photos Of His Private Parts To Secure Role In Lars Van Trier's Nymphomaniac

From a nerd teen in transformers to a nymphomaniac. Who knew?
LeBeouf, 27, was keen for the part in Lars Von Trier’s X-rated Nymphomaniac so happily acquiesced to the production team assessing his manhood.

‘The first info we got – and I’ll never forget this because my entire team reacted with such a fear – the first request on the production end, not from Lars, was pictures of my penis,’ Shia explained during an interview.

Going the extra mile: Shia was happy to send penis shots to nab the role

He previously explained that there was even a disclaimer about the sex, telling MTV: ‘It is what you think it is. There’s a disclaimer at the top of the script that basically says, we’re doing [the sex] for real.
‘And anything that is ‘illegal’ will be shot in blurred images, but other than that, everything is happening.’
In 2012 he told outspoken E! host Chelsea Handler that he landed the role by sending the controversial director his own sex tapes.
‘I sent him video tapes of me and my girlfriend having sex and that’s how I got the job,’
Shia also stripped down for Iceland’s finest Sigur Ross’s video for single Fjogur Pian.
Method star: Shia is keen to inhabit his roles fully and didn't seem phased at all by the request
The latest teaser trailer for Lars von Trier’s controversial film Nymphomaniac was removed from Youtube on, after breaching the site’s rules on nudity and sexual content.
The 57-second clip was released on the film’s official Youtube channel, and is apparently from Nymphomaniac’s fifth chapter – Little Organ School.
Racy split-screen scenes involving Shia and Stacy Martin (who plays the younger version of Charlotte Gainsbourg’s central character, Joe), and scenes with Martin and an older man appear to have triggered the shutdown.
Shia has previously spoken about his willingness to participate in the movie’s pornographic scenes, which he says is all in the name of art.
‘I have ethics. I’m not completely out of my mind,’ he says.
‘But I don’t think there’s anything wrong with sex. Sex is beautiful if it’s done right. And I wouldn’t just do it for no reason… Sex is different than love, and there is a separation, and that middle gap is what the movie’s about.’
Explicit: Shia stars alongside Tracy Martin, who plays the younger version of the titular Nymphomaniac
The four previously-released chapter trailers – there are eight in total – hint at the film’s theme, though they are PG in comparison, featuring no nudity.

The movie will be released in the U.S. in two parts, first on March 21 and second April 18.

He got it: Shia got the part, and the film will be released
Part One on March 21, 2014, and Nymphomaniac: Part Two on April 18, 2014.
